From Amazon:Acclaimed director John Carpenter makes his long awaited return to the screen with a thriller about a young woman in a 1960s mental institution who becomes terrorized by malevolent unseen forces. Kristen, a beautiful but troubled young woman, finds herself bruised, cut, drugged with laughing gas. The other patients in the ward four equally disturbed young women offer no answers, and Kristen quickly realizes things are not as they seem. The air is heavy with secrets, and at night, when the hospital is dark and foreboding, she hears strange and frightening sounds. It appears they are not alone. One-by-one, the other girls begin to disappear and Kristen must find a way out of this hellish place before she, too, becomes a victim. As she struggles to escape, she will uncover a truth far more dangerous and horrifying than anyone could have imagined.
I love John Carpenter films. Like, every one I've seen so far I love and 'The Ward' was no exception. Carpenter has a reputation for awesome and he delivers in 'The Ward.' This movie was awesome!! I love movies that have...a twist at the end. They are like psychological thrillers/horror movies and they are my favorite! Well, one of my favorites.
The movie is about Kristen, a troubled girl who finds herself in a mental institute. This mental institute, however, also has some secrets. There are a few known actors in the film but, even given the no name actors, the movie was still great. There are a few scenes that make you laugh, a lot that make you jump, and the atmosphere of the movie is awesome!
Overall, 'The Ward' was a bad ass movie! I watched it on Netflix but it is definitely something I would add to my collection! I actually put off watching it because...I don't really know why....maybe it was the cover? ha! I'm not really sure but I'd always look at it and be like...naaa and watch something else. I'm glad I finally decided to watch it because it was awesome!!
My Rating: 5/5
