I was out doing some shopping a while back and I ended up at this store called Big Lots. And they had this whole bin full of like $2 movies. White Noise just happened to be one of the many that I found in there and I thought, at $2 a piece, why not? White Noise wasn't really what I expected or remembered. For some reason I thought it was much, much better than what it was this time around. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either.

It's about this guy...played by Micheal Keaton but I can't remember his characters name right now. So his wife dies and then some guy tells him about EVP's and his wife reaching out to him. So he becomes like obsessed with the idea of his wife contacting him from the dead. I think that about sums it up. Some people die and things but nothing overly scary or anything.

I guess if you wanted to see it you could but if you didn't watch it you wouldn't be missing anything. It's not spectacular but, like I said, it was $2. I guess you can't really go wrong for $2 right?

I think that 'Jennifer's Body' is generally hated by like everyone I know. But I sincerely liked it. I thought it was good and I've watched it a few times. Even though Megan Fox looks like a sloppy kisser and it makes me want to puke, it was still a good movie. I like Amanda Seyfried, which I've said before, and she plays a great role in this film. I think the story line was good, everything about the movie adds up, and I didn't feel like there were any gaps or anything.

'Jennifer's Body' is about this chick named Needy. Her best friend falls victim to some crazy, demonic, ritualistic type of stuff by some amateur band people. So after...whatever happens she goes on this crazy killing spree because she has to feed on people so she can stay young and beautiful looking. I don't really want to ruin the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it and wants to so I won't say anything else about it.

I thought that 'Jennifer's Body' was a great movie. Like I said, everything adds up, there aren't any plot holes that I noticed. I think it's definitely worth watching and I'm glad that it's part of my collection. It's not scary or anything but there is a little bit of gore...I guess. Either way, it's a good movie so just watch it! lol.

'Madhouse' and 'High Tension' are both two of some of my favorite movies. I love a good movie that has a crazy twist at the end and this is one of them. I like 'Madhouse' on a few different levels because of a few different reasons but it may not necessarily be a good movie for everyone. I like it because it's twisted and dark. The acting is pretty good...right? Lol. I think that I don't notice things bad with movies that I really like haha.

'Madhouse' takes place in a mental institution. It's about this doctor who is working there for his internship and all the other doctors, security and nurses are like crazy...sort of. They abuse the patients and all that kind of stuff. And there is this major twist at the end of the movie which is super amazing! So, I like that it takes place in a mental hospital because, that's like my dream job. It sounds pretty morbid I guess but I would love to work there and I'm actually going to school to be a psychiatric nurse practitioner. And I like that it has a twist at the end and shows just how bad some of these places can be.

Anyways, I think that 'Madhouse' is awesome and you should definitely check it out. Also, if you haven't seen High Tension, I recommend that one too both are amazing and the same type of movie. I'm probably going to review 'High Tension' soon too so watch out for that. For now, watch 'Madhouse' it's pretty sweet! I'm surprised more people don't know about it...

So I haven't really watched all of the 'Final Destination' movies. But I've seen....this one. And the one with a roller coaster and uhh yeah. I don't understand this one, like it completely confused me. I don't get it so I'm hoping someone can answer some of my questions who is more involved in the movies or at least has seen them all. Overall, it wasn't a bad movie but it was anything special. It's the exact same as all the other movies, some person has a premonition and saves a bunch of people from death and then they all die in a gruesome way in the order they died in the movie.

'Final Destination 5' is about this guy and he saves people from a bridge collapse. The only thing that I really like about the 'Final Destination' movies are the deaths. You can always expect them to be inventive and completely ridiculous...in a good way. Hands down, the deaths are the best part. The thing I liked about this one compared to the other one is that it makes you think the people are going to die one way but then they completely flip it around so it's not what you expect.

Overall, 'Final Destination 5' wasn't terrible but it wasn't amaze-balls either. One of the questions I'd like someone to answer, there is this guy in the movie...he plays the coroner right. And so they ask him what's going on and he's all "You can't cheat death, blah, blah, blah. I've seen this once before!" But then, at the end of the movie, some of the survivors die in the plane crash from the first movie? That confuses me SO much lol. Like, how has he seen it before if this movie is supposed to be before the first movie? I still don't get it. I've never seen the first movie but....I'm still confused...and I don't want to buy it lol. Explanations would be much appreciated!

I'm not sure where to really start with this review. Or if I even have that much to say about the movie. I've been sitting here thinking about what to write and that can't be a good thing. I feel like, when you watch a movie you should either be super pumped about it and have tons to write OR super disappointed. So, I guess I'm feeling kind of...neutral towards 'One Missed Call.'

'One Missed Call' is the American remake of a Japanese movie...called 'One Missed Call.' lol. So, it sucks in comparison. I haven't review the Japanese version yet but I've definitely seen it. I'll have to go out this week and buy it so I can review it. While the acting in the American version is good, they just completely mutilated the remake. I'm not a fan but that's not to say it was a complete waste. It still has some alright parts...there is nothing scary or creepy about it though. Which is disappointing.

Overall, the American version of 'One Missed Call' was ok. I definitely could have picked something better to fill my time. You can see it...or not. It really makes no difference but if there is something better (which there is a lot of) definitely watch it first. Don't go out of your way for this one.

The summary basically tells the movie. We've all heard the tale of kids in a dark bathroom, saying "Bloody Mary" three times, only to have the evil witch appear in the mirror. Well, this movie, basically takes that urban legend and adds a bit of a twist to it.

The movie starts off a bit slow, a beautiful blonde in a car on the side of a wooded road. A guy shows up with cherry cans filled with gas. Before too long, they are on their way, but you can feel the tension between them. They arrive at a cabin and meet up with their friends who are already there.
The movie then slowly drags on, only to find out that everyone is cheating on everyone and while mixing drugs and booze they end up sitting around a fire reminiscing about old times. Before long, it gets suggested they should play "Dead Mary". The newest member of the group asks what that is. They tell her, and then when the guys start mocking the story, they star taking turns going into the bathroom with a candle. Four of the seven go into the bathroom and call up on the spirit. Soon after, strange noises are going through the cabin.

The action starts pretty quick after this, but the story just takes a dive. The horror effects are near non-existent. Not much blood or gore. It really is a shame, because I think with a better production team/company they really could have made it a good movie. The rest of the movie involves numerous attempts at trying to kill each other, burning bodies, many many shovel attacks.

I found myself fast forwarding some parts, just to try to find some "action". It really was a long movie, filled with no substance, no horror and just a disappointment really.
Sorry to say, but Dead Mary only gets 2/5.

"No Soul Is Safe" is the tagline given for this new movie. I have been a fan of these types of movies ever since seeing The Exorcist when I was 14 years old. Over the years, there have been numerous movies based on the subject of possession and satanism.

What makes this one different? Well, it's filmed in the sense of being a documentary. A lot of "behind the camera" angles make up the majority of the film. I first saw the preview Christmas Eve actually, and knew I had to see this movie. I went last weekend to see it and despite the length of the movie and the near empty theatre, I enjoyed it.

Since this is a movie, still in theatres, I will refrain from giving too many details or key parts in it. I will say, the movie starts off on a high note, suspenseful and even giving you a tiny jump in your seat. My friend who went with me, said she found it very slow at first; however, I found it was paced well for the theme of the movie.

In a nutshell, the main character is on the hunt to locate her mother who was moved to Italy. She is "documenting" everything, so you are behind the camera lens interviewing people and seeing the action unfold. With a few little twists, the main character is then thrown into the full blow action of a real exorcism. The effects are without large amounts of blood, guts and gore and replaced with gruesome, bone cracking positions of the sick.

The movie progresses fairly quick after the exorcism scene. I also found the 83 minutes went fairly quick. Fast forward to the end of the movie, and, you are still left with many answers. I have read reviews stating that the ending upset people, and I witnessed a few guys in my theatre angered by the ending. Before the credits roll, a website address is flashed on the screen, encouraging people to check it out and continue the search for answers.

Overall, I would have to say, it was entertaining. Not the best horror movie out there, but I really don't think that is what the director was going for. It did remind me of movies like Quarantine and The Blair Witch Project (not storyline, but the way the movie was made).

If you are looking for a movie that could open you up to believing that possession could happen, this would be a good choice. I am going to rate this an 4/5.

For an 88 minute film, this movie seemed much longer! I don't usually bash on peoples work so I'm going to try not to here but...well, that might be a little too hard not to do. I hated this movie. Hated it. And I knew I would from the moment it started. I'm a big "found footage" movie fan. I'd happily watch Paranormal Activity any day of the week. However 'Apollo 18' I couldn't watch again to save my life! Ok, that's not true but you get the point. I'm warning you now, if you haven't seen it, SPOILERS!

So, this movie is about these three guys that go to the moon on a secret mission. They can't tell their families or anything. So the movie is super boring in the beginning. I actually almost contemplated turning it off 5 minutes in. Anyways, two guys on the moon and some other dude is like...orbiting around it waiting for them. So the two guys on the moon are doing...space things. And then all of a sudden there is a dead Russian....and a Russian ship. So scary......And then, OMG there are killer....rocks? WHAT? lol. Ok? So, it was lame. rocks...yup. These people must have had a HUGE budget...I mean rocks...those are pretty rare right?

Needless to say, this movie sucks. And although I only paid $1.20 for it at Redbox, I'd still like my $1.20 back. In all fairness I jumped at one part....and it wasn't even scary it was just the two guys fooling around and one of them scares the other. Scariest part in the entire film. I'm very interested to hear what other people thought of 'Apollo 18' so if you've seen it, please comment and let me know!

So, I noticed today that on TV there is a Leprechaun movie marathon. I just got done watching the first Leprechaun movie and I'm about to start the second. So I thought it was a prefect time to write reviews for them! I actually forgot how much I love the Leprechaun movies until I started watching them again today haha. I don't know why I don't own them but I clearly need to. Warwick Davis is amazing and has been in a few of my most loved movies!

So Leprechaun is about....a leprechaun. The basic story line is that someone steals his pot of gold and then he goes on a murderous rampage looking to get it back. He has some very inventive ways of killing people, which always makes for a good time. The Leprechaun movies are classics and if you haven't seen them, you should.

The Leprechaun movies are consistent, for the most part. They all have Warwick Davis as the Leprechaun unlike some other movie franchises. The kills are almost always different. The first movie also has Jennifer Aniston in it...which could be a plus or a minus depending on how you look at it. Also, the acting isn't terrible. Which is a definitely a positive haha.

I decided to write a review for the Resident Evil moviessss because there is a new game coming out this year (which I fully intend on buying) and because I feel like they get a lot of bad reviews and I love them! I know I can't be called a die hard Resident Evil fan or anything but I do love both the games AND the movies. A lot of people want to make comparisons between the games and movies but I try to not look at it that way. I try to look at it as it's own thing, completely separate from the games. Maybe that's what lets me love them so much lol.

I don't really feel the need to write about what 'Resident Evil' is about because if you haven't seen it, then you've been living under a rock! Anyways, lets cover the basics. It's a movie about zombies. Yup. Mingled among these zombies are super genius computers, the infamous Alice (played by Milla Jovovich. I can't pronounce her last name but I have fun trying), and all of the bloodshed and mayhem takes place underground in a secret facility known as 'The Hive.'

I love things that most people hate and, I don't like to admit it but, a lot of people hate the Resident Evil movies. So it should really be no surprise that I love them. The only thing that really prompted this review was the fact that I'm planning on buying the movies on Blu-Ray this week so I thought, I haven't written a review in a long time, so why not? Overall, I loved 'Resident Evil.' What's not to love? Zombies, mutated animals, blood, zombies, Milla Jovovich, did I mention zombies?

So, I recently...ish watched this movie called 'Victim.' I wasn't really sure what to think of it...it's messed up and not in a good way. By the definition of the movie I was kind of hoping it would have been something similar to 'Megan is Missing' which I reviewed a couple months ago I think. It was not like that at all. The most sinister thing about the movie, the Doctor who has gone nuts. And the worst thing about it...is everything else.

The movie starts out with some guy drinking in a bar, some creepy dude in a corner is watching him with a hoodie on so you can't see his face. This guy kidnaps him in the parking lot and the guy wakes up locked in a cell in some one's cellar. The whole motive behind the Doctor's plans are covered up till about halfway through. At first I thought he was going to end up like the doctor from 'The Human Centipede.' To me, it seems rather incestuous for this doctor to care and talk about his daughter the way he does. Surely they have a relationship...gross.

To be blunt, I hated this movie. I didn't turn it off because it wasn't the worst pile of crap ever but I certainly didn't care about it all. Fortunately for me, I just went on a Horror DVD buying binge so now I have tons of movies to watch that I KNOW will be far better than this crap.

I just have to add quickly that the only place I can find this movie right now is Netflix....which isn't saying much haha. So, I don't even think you can buy and/or rent it right now anyways.

I was bored today and didn't feel like working on homework so I decided to browse through my netflix and I found this movie on there. It's not going to be available for Instant Queue after November 30th so I decided to watch it now. It was actually really good. I love the fact that the movie totally lets you into Jin's world as she descends into madness through her death obsession. The actress, Race Wong, portrayed Jin amazingly! Overall, awesome movie. There were a couple of things that I didn't particularly like but overall, it was faaaantastic!

So, the movie is about this chick named Jin and her...girlfriend (?) I think....Jas. I don't actually know if it's her girlfriend as that is never directly stated BUT they act like girlfriends. But then there is this part where Jas' parents come home and Jin is like, "Hi Aunt, and Uncle." WHAT? haha. Ok. Anyways, moving on. So, Jin and Jas like photography and they just walk around taking pictures and things. Well, at one point Jin takes a death shot of this woman who was hit by a car dieing thus resulting in her obsession with death. This Jin girl just completely gets consumed by death. I really liked watching her go, practically, insane because...well...that's always fun right?

I definitely recommend checking this one out. If you have Netflix, you can check it out on instant queue until November 30th....if not then...whatever haha. I'd check it out though. It was actually really good even if it isn't exactly scary...or terrifying or too gory, it was still great!

I actually watched....'28 Weeks Later' before I saw this one. I only picked it up because it was in a $2 bin at the store haha! AWESOME! AND because everyone was telling me how a-ma-zing it was. So, I checked it out. And I didn't like it as much as I liked '28 Weeks Later.' I don't know why. Maybe it was because, on the cover of my DVD, it said it was the scariest movie since 'The Exorcist.' Or maybe it was because it just wasn't scary at all......I don't know. At any rate, it was a decent movie and I'm happy it's part of my disgustingly huge collection!! haha.

The movie is about a guy...I don't remember his name right now. So he....was in an accident...got hit by a car or something and woke up and everyone was just gone. So he walks around yelling "HELLO!" for awhile. It was very....'Resident Evil' like. The beginning was anyways. It just reminded me of that part of 'Resident Evil' when Alice wakes up naked in the hospital and then walks outside and there is just papers and stuff flying everywhere and no one around. So, the whole movie is this guy and some chick and some other peoples trying to run away from zombies and find protection or whatever.

Overall, this movie was alrighttt. I'm happy to have it, especially at $2, but it's nothing extraordinary. And I liked '28 Weeks Later' much better! I get how the movies tie together but....there's nothing that like...has things from the first one into the second except for the whole...zombie thing, you know? And I thought it would be the same characters from movie one to movie 2 but whatever, they're both good either way.

Oh 'Paranormal Activity' how I love you! The firs time I watched this movie it was on a computer, at night, in the dark, with headphones on. And it scared that crap outta me hehe. I think about halfway through the movie I turned it off because I couldn't watch it anymore cause I was scared. Then I was addicted. Ever since I watched 'Paranormal Activity' I've been on this "real" film kick thing. So every time I hear of a "self shot" movie, I have to check it out. I guess that's why I was one of the fewwww people who looooved Blair Witch Project.

So this movie is about a guy named Micah who films his girlfriend (right? fiancee? w/e) and their "paranormal activity" experiences. It's creepy. At first I was like, it's going to have terrible acting, this movie is going to suck! So I was shocked when it didn't haha. I don't want to say too much about this movie because I know there are a few people who follow Two Gory Chicks who haven't seen it but want to. I plan on releasing a review for PA 2 in a few days as well because I'm going to see the third one in theaters soon!

At any rate, if you like to be scared, and you're into ghosts and/or the possibility of them then I urge you to check this out. I watched it with someone who is a skeptic of all things paranormal and he hates it, so just a heads up. Watch this movie at home, alone...or not...with the lights out and tell me you don't get the slightest bit freaked!

I feel like I always start my reviews the same way. And I also say so, like, and anyways a lot....I'm trying to stop! It's a problem, I know. Anyways (HA!) I watched this movie called 'The Reef' the other day because I just finished with midterms and had some "free time." I don't like to watch watery shark movies because I always compare them to 'Jaws.' I don't know why....I'm one of those people who doesn't try and compare things. For instance, the 'Resident Evil' movies vs the video games. I'm a gamer, I game, whatever but I didn't cry about how the movies were off from the video games. To be honest, I didn't even notice lol. So, I tried really super hard to not compare 'The Reef' to 'Jaws' and I just may have done it! YAY!

This movie is about some people. And these people's names....I really can't remember. Which can't be good hehe. This movie really wasn't terrible. So, it was about some people, in Australia on a boat. And the boat gets flipped over because it hits this really big...like...hard reef thing. So, it flips the boat over and then they are stuck. There is no overly smart shark who flips the boat....or bashes through the bottom of the boat and sinks it. Which was cool because it's more...realistic that way n'est pas? So, this one guy is all "let's swim I know there's an island somewhere over there." and then everyone else is like "oh, ok. We will just swim at random through the shark infested ocean until we come across an Island!" So, they do...after some struggling and deliberations. So, they are swimming and swimming and swimming and OMG a shark shows up. Anyways, I guess I won't give away ALL the details about the movie.

In comparison to other man eating shark type movies, 'The Reef' wasn't so bad. It had a good plot without the whole super genius shark. There were no mutated fishes, no drug enhanced super sharks, no bigger than earth octopus, it was...real? I don't really know how to describe. If you happen to have Netflix, check it out, it's on there. But only do it out of extreme boredom lol. Well it's not as terrible, it's not spectacular either. It's...average-ish.

Ike and his son are controlled by a mysterious ghost, whose bidding lead Ike to abduct and torture beautiful women travelers. But, there is more to this story than meets the eye... literally!

The first thing that attracted me to this film was the main star: Kane Hodder. For horror movie buffs you will know this name from four Friday the 13th films. Kane played Jason Voorhees in VII-X. I have always admired Kane's work. It was different seeing him without a hockey mask..but he still carried some of the same characteristics as his previous villain role.

The description from IMDb is very accurate. Hodder plays Ike. A hunter who owns a gas station located on Exit 33. The gas station is located on a wooded road, out in the middle of nowhere. No cell reception (how convenient). The gas station is known for it's famous "beef jerky". The first time you see Kane, is behind the counter in the gas station reading a copy of Fangoria Magazine. From the get go, it was your basic movie. Pretty girls, getting attacked by a big scary looking guy, out in the middle of nowhere.

A couple parts had me laughing out loud literally. Early in the movie, there is a car travelling on a highway, heavy metal music blaring from the car stereo. A cell phone rings and the girl starts swearing into the phone, telling the person on the other end "I hate you, I'm moving to Canada". I mean, umm, ok..sure come up here and escape your problems. Of course, a few miles down the road she notices the gas in the car is getting low and sees the "Last Chance Gas" Exit 33 sign. Nothing was out of the ordinary this first customer. She pays for gas and Ike tells her to use 'pump 9'. She gets her gas and then leaves. A short time later, her car starts having problems and she pulls over. A white truck pulls up, Ike gets out and hits her over the head with a tire iron. You don't know what plans he has for them, until after the second victim. There you see Ike spooning out the eyes of his victims. But they remain alive.

As each car pulls up to get gas, Ike makes sure to tell them which pump to use. The men were told to use pump 3 and the pretty girls pump 9. It's only later in the movie you see him filling up the pump 9 with the water hose. He continues to have flashbacks to happier days; proposing to a pretty girl, then with a baby bassinet and finally drunk holding a gun in the woods, which results in the shooting of the girl in his memories. It seems to make sense as to why he was killing these girls and taking their eyes.

The movie progresses quickly, and you finally find out at the very end what happened to drive him to do this. I found the storyline to be ok, and Kane's acting is very similar to his Jason days. Including a scene where he's chasing a girl through the woods.

It's not a movie that I would rush out and buy, but if you are a fan of Kane's then it's worth checking out. It's a way to pass some free time and just watch a movie.

I'm gonna rate this 3/5 simply for the fact that Kane is in it.

So, I decided to watch this movie last night called 'Megan is Missing.' The synopsis on Netflix was fairly vague and I was going to watch 'Paranormal Activity 2' but my fellow movie watcher complained SO 'Megan is Missing' it was. Umm, I don't know how I feel about this movie. And I'm not sure if it's really even a horror movie but it scared me. It freaked me out, felt me leaving disturbed and just....I don't know. And I also haven't been able to stop thinking about 3 particular parts in said movie since I watched it. Actually, I was in the shower today and I was tripping out because I started thinking about it and got scared....HA! I really did, terrible! The thing is, 'Megain is Missing' isn't scary...it's not like creepy ghosts or anything. What makes it so disturbing and scary is the thought. The reality that's behind it. It freaked me out and I can't stop thinking about it. It's like...burned into my cerebral cortex.

Any who, this movie starts off very strange. And I really almost turned it off because I was like "WTF IS THIS??????" lol. But, I decided to keep watching because it's better than a 20 minute discussion over what else to watch. So this movie is about a girl name Megan and her friend Amy...I think it was Amy. Anyways, they meet this online person, Megan goes missing and yeah. It doesn't sound interesting but the last 20 minutes of this movie is KILLER. I mean, it's terribly disgusting to have to hear 14 year old girls talk about what these girls talked about, but just sit through it! Listen to the whole story. You have to like...go with it and pay attention to notice the creepy things a happening. haha.

So, I don't know what to rate this movie. I've been debating about it since I watched it. Partially because it disturbed me on a level that isn't right. It scared me. I am scared. But, it was executed in a weird way. At first I thought it was these girls talking on webcam all the time. Then I realized that it was probably just phone calls but it's a movie, so they had to do something there...get it? It's not that long of a movie so you should watch it. Just to get that creep-ed out sketchy feeling that I have right now. Ugh!

My oh my, I decided to watch this movie tonight after reading my colleague's review..and let me tell you this. I agree 100%, this is a freaky movie. The last 25 minutes gave me such feelings, like anxiety, chills, frights and horror. While it claims to be based on real live events...it sure does leave somethings to consider. This could happen. How many times, do you find yourself on the computer talking to someone you don't know.People meet others online all the time. There were a few scenes in particular that have been burnt into my mind, like Ginger said. The effects of these two scenes are well done. Being a fan of "The Blair Witch Project", it's that type of movie. Could it be real? Could it be fake? It keeps the viewer guessing.
I want to thank Ginger for doing this review, because without it, I would never of heard of this movie. It does have that major creep factor, and for that I am going to give it a gruesome 4/5.

I love John Carpenter films. Like, every one I've seen so far I love and 'The Ward' was no exception. Carpenter has a reputation for awesome and he delivers in 'The Ward.' This movie was awesome!! I love movies that have...a twist at the end. They are like psychological thrillers/horror movies and they are my favorite! Well, one of my favorites.

The movie is about Kristen, a troubled girl who finds herself in a mental institute. This mental institute, however, also has some secrets. There are a few known actors in the film but, even given the no name actors, the movie was still great. There are a few scenes that make you laugh, a lot that make you jump, and the atmosphere of the movie is awesome!

Overall, 'The Ward' was a bad ass movie! I watched it on Netflix but it is definitely something I would add to my collection! I actually put off watching it because...I don't really know why....maybe it was the cover? ha! I'm not really sure but I'd always look at it and be like...naaa and watch something else. I'm glad I finally decided to watch it because it was awesome!!

Don't Let Him In

Right from the start, this movie is based in the UK. It's not until you are about 10 minutes in, do you hear the accents. The film starts off with the sound of grunting, moaning, cuts through bone and flesh. The screen continuously fades in and out, only showing a little bit at the time, which appears to be a dark area, filled with dirty tools hanging, body parts on the floor and a woman sitting on the ground moaning and throwing up. She breaks free and ends up out of the cave and in the middle of the forest.
The storyline then jumps to "two days earlier" and you see the woman in a safe kitchen. Without giving too many details, the movie progresses and like the description from IMDb, two couples make their way to a family cottage, in the woods.
While watching this movie, I was interested and kept guessing at who the killer was. They did a good job, making you believe it was this guy, then that guy, and then even another possible person. When the couples arrive at the cottage, the local police inform them that there is a strange fellow roaming the woods, who the press had began calling the "Tree Surgeon", because after mutilating his victims he would hang them from branches in the woods. This did not discourage the 4 from wanting to go back to the city.
A few things made me laugh, is that they were so far out in the woods yet cell phones worked. But when they needed them to work, to call for help, there was no reception. From the scenes of sewing up someone with fishing line, to the young art student sitting calmly sketching a dismembered body in a tree, I found this movie to include some nice suspense filled parts, but overall it was really, just bizarre.
The dialogue was crazy in some parts, the acting from a group of unknowns didn't enhance the movie either.
It was a good movie, to waste time on a Sunday afternoon, but I don't think I would add this to my collection for later viewing.
Unfortunately, I have to rate this movie a 2/5.

I have reviewed a lot of movies lately that are based off of the person who inspired this movie. So, I thought that maybe I should come on here and write a review for it! I love this movie. I think it's the whole ghost and exorcism thing...I'm not really sure what one thing makes me love it but there is a lot to really like about this movie. First thing, overall creepiness. I mean, I'd be pretty f-ing freaked out if I woke up every night at the same time and my door was wide open....really? lol. And then to find out that the movie is based off of factual events, awesome! haha. Second, the acting. I love Jennifer Carpenter. She is one of my favorite actresses for many good reasons. Jennifer Carpenter's performance in 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose' is so powerful! I mean, wow! It's almost too good.

So the movie is about this catholic girl named Emily. She wins some scholarship to go away to school and while there she becomes possessed. The whole story is actually the retelling through the court case. And the whole focal point is what happens with Father Moore and Erin, the lawyer. There are a lot of awesome actors/actresses in this move like Laura Linney who plays Erin Bruner, the lawyer and, like I said earlier, Jennifer Carpenter.

This movie is fantastic! I love it! I've never actually heard anyone else's opinion about it so I'm interested in what everyone else thought of it. If you haven't seen it yet, then please do! It's amazing and you'll be happy you did! Just throw it into your list of movies to watch for your Halloween Countdown!! October is horror movie month for me, it's all I watch ha ha.

In fact, it is how Cane writes it--but is he Devil, dark oracle, or simply a preacher in the service of an evil that grows stronger with every soul his books convert? The script never quite gets a grip on the blurry relationship between fact and fiction, but those details fade in the face of Carpenter's demented imagery, shiver-inducing twists, and dark wit. It's more eerie mind game than straight-out horror, a portrait of a world gone mad, and Carpenter relishes every hallucinatory moment.

So, I'm ashamed to admit that I have never even heard of this movie. I mean, how could I not hear of it? haha! It was actually really good. I found it on Netflix and decided to check it out because it was directed by John Carpenter and I was not disappointed. It's one of those movies that isn't like...scary, scary. But, it is full of moments where something will walk past the screen and there is a loud noise so you jump haha. I love it! Overall, it's a great movie. I actually just read that Carpenter said it is the third movie in his Apocalypse Trilogy along with The Thing, and Prince of Darkness so I'll have to check those out too!

The movie is about an investigator, John Trent. Well, he's not an investigator necessarily but he investigates cons. Anyways, he is hired by this guy to investigate the disappearance of Sutter Cane, a famous horror novel writer. From that point on, things get weird for him. Literally, from the moment he's hired, there is an attempt made on his life from, what we are led to believe, is just some crazed fan. Trent finds himself swirling into madness at a rapid rate and soon finds himself locked up in a mental institute.

This movie was very well executed. The acting was great, for the time, and the story line was awesome sauce! It's an older movie but it's great! If you haven't seen it yet, I suggest that you do!!

So, I watched this movie a long time ago. Well, a few months ago anyways. And I have been putting off writing a review for it because, lets face it, this movie is pretty sick. And I didn't want to have to think about it. If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't seen it, you will. This movie left me feeling sick to my stomach. Just the cover of the movie should make you think disgusting things. I'm not really sure why I watched this movie....I think I was bored and it was the only thing somewhat interesting looking on my netflix. I tend to not read what a movie is about before I watch it...it's like reading the back of a book before you read it.

So, this movie is about a human centipede. Big shocker there. Anyways, it's three people....sewn together to create a human centipede. It's disgusting. It's like the worst three-way imaginable! haha. There is this completely demented surgeon gone mad scenario. He drugs some people, sews them together and BAM human centipede.

This movie isn't scary. Well, it's not like...scary the crap out of you like that one scene in Insidious! but it's scary on a psychological level. Like, the thought of this happening is so disgusting and scary. I feel like, despite it's extremely appalling nature, this film was well executed. And, alas, they are making a Human Centipede 2...which I'll also watch for the sake of watching, I'm sure. Here, watch the trailer for part 2:

More disgustingness, no? lol. Anyways, if you can get over the nasty poop chin part of this movie, it's not SO bad right?

Blogger Zombie Walk!!

So, for the Zombie Blogger Walk, I decided to do a post on the top 10 Zombie Movies!

10. Day of the Dead (1985)
Do I really need to explain why I put this movie on this list? It's a classic, it had to be here! And because I hate the 2008 version.

9. Army of Darkness
In three words, Bruce Campbell, "Boomstick," AND dead creatures...and witches...and awesomeness! Ok, so a little more than three words!

8. 28 Weeks Later
I don't know why, but I really liked this movie. But, like I've said in earlier posts, I seem to like a lot of movies that people HATE!

7. The Walking Dead
I know it's not a movie BUT I had to include this show in my list because, a) it's an awesome show b) it's about zombies and c) I can, that's why! I wish they made more zombie shows!

6. Night of the Living Dead
This, to me, is another classic. Enough said!

5. Zombieland
I think this movie is generally hated by people, which is why I like it! haha. No, not really. But I liked it. I thought it was good. So it made my list!

4. Land of the Dead
I like this movie. Actually, I love this movie. I think it's awesome that the zombies were a little smarter. Well, one of them was. It makes for some more interesting fight scenes. And there were some parts where the zombies would get a hold of one of the characters and kill them in a way that gave you chills. Like, when that guy had a zombie rip his hand apart through his fingers.

3. Re-animator
I really can't put into words how much I love the Re-animator movies. I love them. I think everyone in the whole world should see them because they....are....awesome!

2. Shaun of the Dead
Another great movie. It was funny, it had zombies, it was great! You kind of run out of things to say about zombie movies after the first few haha. I love it though!

1. Return of the Living Dead
I will always love this movie and it's ALL because of one word

"Brains!"

I recently saw this movie on my Netflix recommended list so I watched it. I heard it was really good and had some really good ratings. I'm happy to say that it was actually really good lol. I didn't know when I first started watching it that it was a 'based on true events' movie. But, it is actually based on a real story that I read up on and I have to say, gross. Sick, gross, nasty, disturbing. Like, how the....? I mean, really? Who does that? It's not scary. Well, I don't know, maybe it is. But it wasn't scary to me, it was just disturbing. And I mean really disturbing.

It's the retelling of an actual event. Some guy turned it into a book and the book was made into a movie. It's about this girl named Meg. And she is young, like maybe 14? I'm not exactly sure how old she is. Anyways, her parents are dead so she has to go and live with her Aunt. Her aunt doesn't have a husband but has 3 kids. She is sick and twisted. Like, I wish I could meet the real lady, I'd punch her in her damn face! I'd like to do much worse things than that to her but whatever. Anyways, this young girl is roped up in a basement, naked, for days. days and days. She is blindfolded and gagged so that she won't scream. This kid Davie tries to help her escape which doesn't work out.

I'm not going to give away too much about the movie because I think everyone should see it. It's really distrubing. I mean, especially if you're a chick. Like...how messed up does a person have to be to do half of this shit? Seriously! After you watch the movie, look it up. Google it, it's real. Disgusting. Anyways, I give this movie:

I saw a preview for this movie a long time ago and was going to watch it but I never did. Then I saw it again the other night on my Netflix queue so I figured I'd check it out. It has Nikki Reed in it and I like her from some earlier, non Twilight related roles. It also has Betsy Russell from the Saw series. Anyways, although I like Nikki Reed and I like movies that most people hate, that didn't work here. This movie is basically a teen slasher. But...not a good one. Some of the acting was good, some not so much. It kind of reminded me of Pulse except about superstitious teens...who clearly aren't teens....

This movie is about some random person who HATES technology. And, because he hates technology, he decides to send out an internet chain letter. Something about a link in the chain, every link is a life. Basically, send it or die. Some people do, some don't. Then this deformed looking man shows up, with chain tattoos on his arms, and starts killing the people who don't send it. Let me clarify a few things. First, this individual hates technology, yeah, that's why he knows how to send emails, he knows how to track them, he knows how to use a virus and put it on peoples cell phones thus enabling him to be able to track the activity regarding said chain letter. Oh, he also knows how to hack someones computer and watch their webcam. Anyways, so he kills a bunch of people because they didn't forward his stupid chain letter and he's part of some "Anti-technology" group. Make sense?

At any rate, I held a higher hope for this movie then what I got. While some of the acting was good and some was decent, the story line kind of sucked. And it was full of gaps and things just didn't add up. For instance, the killer who hates technology, is part of an anti-tecnology group who doesn't use cell phones or computers or anything. But he knows how to hack things and do this and that on them. It doesn't quite add up for me. Also, a lot of these "teens" are killed in their houses. Where are their parents? Because, they are home but can't hear their kids screaming and dieing in a room down the hall? I don't get it. Anyways, I guess that was an ok movie if you're into that kind of thing. And the acting wasn't too bad. If you are bored, check it out, otherwise, I'd hold out for something a little better.

I am a huge fan of the 'Nightmare on Elm Street' series. Which is exactly why I bought the new 'Nightmare on Elm Street,' I had to check it out. I love Robert Englund and all of his glorious-ness so I needed to see the new Krueger and how he did in comparison. Well, for me, no one can compare to Englund but Haley did a decent job. This movie was decent but it definitely wasn't the Krueger I loved. One of the things I loved about the original Elm Street movies, was Kruegers character. He was funny, and his voice is recognized worldwide. And through all the jokes, he has a deep, booming, creepy laugh. New Krueger sounds like a child molester...which is fairly accurate but he still has that sinister laugh.

Krueger is the face of the Elm Street series. No one really ever cared about Nancy, or Glen or any of the other characters in the films. They were just part of the numerous victims. In the original, Krueger's kills were thought out, funny, inventive. But the new 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' does not have that same quality. Where the original was funny and creative. Kreuger would go as far as dressing up as a female nurse, or eating people whole, pulling them into a bed, crazy stuff in all the original movies. In this one, all the deaths seem the same. They all get pulled into the same place, die the same way. It's a little repetitive. Old Freddy's face is like...a horror movie icon, but new Freddy literally looks like a burn victim:

Despite all the comparisons, I really did like the new 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' movie. It had good acting, decent cast, and it was a fairly accurate remake. Nothing will ever replace the original Elm Street movies for me, but that doesn't mean that I can't like this one as well. It's more...realistic? haha. I definitely think it's worth checking out. It's a good movie even if it's not the original.

Do we really need another shark movie? Despite the 3D technology, the movie is still like a fish out of water...a flop.

I find myself comparing all these shark movies to the King of all shark movies - Jaws. As more and more shark movies come out, they still go back and "borrow" from Jaws. Scantily clad pretty ladies getting chomped on, water-skier's getting attacked, boats getting attacked and always one or two hereos at the end who kill the monster beast.
The first attack happens early in the movie with a girl in shallow water, bouncing around with the gratuitousness ass shot. The shark silently appears from under the water and attacks her and that's all she wrote.
It then flashes forward to an university campus and next thing you know, they are piling into a truck to head to an island for some "sex, music, drinking, etc".
I have to say the dialogue in this movie is not stellar, and even the storyline is quite routine. By the time the real action starts, I found it to be a waste of time, yet like other trainwreck movies, it's just so damn hard to turn off. First we have a sheriff who knows the young pretty blonde who owns the resort on the island. They offer him a beer, he chugs one and gets back in the boat and "goes back to work". Then the big strong male athlete is boarding, flipping in the air and gets attacked...he loses an arm. Another boy jumps back into the water to retrieve the arm, and while doing that, discovers the shark. They race to the dock and of course makes it just in the nick of time. They then pile into the boat for a 2 hr ride to the nearest hospital, separated arm wrapped in a blanket. Along the way, the blood seeping through the drain in the boat, entices the shark who then attacks them and eats the dude's girlfriend.
I had to laugh at some parts, with the same dude who lost his arm, trying to attack the shark with one arm, with a spear. With help from another friend, they manage to kill the shark and notice a camera is attached to it.
Long story short, 3 of the locals have a twisted thought that if they film these shark attacks they can sell their movies to "Shark Week" and make lots of money. Even the local drunk sheriff is in on it.
I won't give more of the story away, but people, save your money till this comes out on video. It's very disappointing, despite the 3D, bad storyline, and the fact they are sacrificing people to tiger sharks, cookie cutter sharks etc..it's just a bad movie. I don't understand in this day and age, with the amount of technology available, no one has yet been able to make a quality movie that stands up to Jaws.
I will finish this review, with saying, one of the best parts is at the very end...involving a shark flying out of the water!

Overall, I need to rate this movie 3/5...and that might even be too high of a rating.

I've seen this movie a few times, and each time certain parts make me jump. It's not what you would consider a gory, gruesome horror movie. It does have some suspense and scary parts, but done in a way that throughout the movie you don't really know what the "bad thing" is.
The story is touching, as it proves a mother's love for their child is very strong and they would rather give their life than allow the child to die.

As IMDB's description states, the mother and daughter move to a run down apartment and soon after, discover a strange black, wet spot on their ceiling in the child's bedroom. Over time, the ceiling proceeds to drip and fills up bucket after bucket of black/dark water. Despite the numerous attempts to repair and stop the leaking, it begins again. Dahlia, the mother, played by Jennifer Connelly hears footsteps upstairs, but is told that no one lives there. She ventures on upstairs to explore and discovers the apartment flooded and signs of neighbourhood "kids" playing around in the abandoned apartment.

Dahlia continues to explore the apartment building, including the roof. She soon finds out the real history of the apartment and decides that it's better to pack up everything and leave. The final night in their apartment proves to be the last night.

Without giving too many spoilers, it was quite loving how Dahlia put her daughter first. I was surprised to see Tim Roth (Lie To Me fame) in this movie, acting as Dahlia's lawyer. He played a great part, like he does with everything he's in. Little Ariel Gade played the role of Dahlia's daughter CeCi perfectly.

Like I mentioned earlier, the movie may not contain all the usual blood and gore that I look for in a horror movie, but the suspense and thrills make up for it. I usually end up watching it over again, if it comes on TV. I would say see this movie.

Therefore, I would give this movie 4/5.

I watched 'Ju-on' last night and I waited to write my review till today so it's not exactly fresh in my mind but I wouldn't exactly forget a movie like 'Ju-on' either. I haven't written a review for the American version, 'The Grudge' yet but I expect to have it up sometime soon to go in correlation with this review. For those who don't know me, I live for Asian horror films. So it should come as no shock that I LOVED this one. It was my first time watching it and I enjoyed it immensely. The American version was very close in relation to this one, which I was pretty shocked about. For most other films that are remade in America, there are usually an innumerable amount of differences and they drive me crazy.

If you are some hiding in a hole weirdo, and have no idea what 'The Grudge' is, I will tell you. 'Ju-on' is the story of a house..basically. It's a "haunted house" that has some very vengeful spirits with it. To put it simply, if you enter the house, the spirits within will torment you and, eventually, kill you...or drag you off somewhere and who knows what happens to you. One of the things I love about 'Ju-on' is the way the Grudge chick moves. How you can see her snapping movements that, at least I associate with death. It seems more realistic to me, because I think of it as rigamortis has set in and that's why she's so snappy and jerky in her movements. Get it? That's my thought on it anyways.

So, in closing, I love this movie. Surprised? You shouldn't be! It was absolutely awesome! It was full of scary, creepy, twitchy, make you jump goodness! I mean, I didn't have bad dreams at night and it didn't keep me up but I think it's near impossible for that to happen haha. Overall, amazing and I'm happy to have it as part of my horror collection. It's definitely worth checking out. And, with Halloween coming up, it's a great movie to add to your horror movie marathon for the night!

I'm going to start off by saying that I'm going to be giving this movie a higher rating. Not that I think it was incredible, not that I loved it, and not that it wasn't awesome. It's just that...I feel like it's a ripoff. I feel like they took 'Jaws' and made it into a movie filled with ass, titties, and piranha. Now, that's not to say it wasn't good, it was. And it was made perfectly for the audience it was aimed for. I mean, what guy wouldn't love to see that many boobs in a 60 minute span. Throw in a little lesbian action, naked underwater swimming, and blood and gore into the mix, and you have to making of an amazing film for (nearly) any man aged 18 or older. Ahh but let's not forget our female viewers. With the developing love story it holds appeal to almost any girl. Therefore, it reaches both sexes of it's targeted audience.

'Piranha' tells the story of a teenage boy (I think?) and his family...and his "love" interest. Let's show the 'Jaws' comparisons shall we? He's from a small town, check. His mom is the sheriff, check. Ton of people show up at one point in the year, therefore creating an eating frenzy of epic proportions for any underwater meat eater, check. Fish expert, check. Mysterious underwater killer, check. Shall I continue? While the numerous amount of similarities between 'Jaws' and 'Piranha' to me seem endless, that's not to say they are exactly the same. Although I think almost all the Jaws movies can be summed up into this one 'Piranha' movie. Ok, so, there is an underwater earthquake caused by a beer bottle, thus letting out thousands of Piranha's who then feast on the College Students who came down for Spring Break to Lake Victoria. Check, check, check...ugh!

Anyways, despite my bitching, I really did enjoy at least half of this movie. I mean, it's got some of my favorite 80's actors in it; Elisabeth Shue, 'Adventures in Babysitting,' Christopher Lloyd 'Back to the Future,' and let's not forget Richard Dreyfuss 'Jaws.' See, 'Jaws' again. My favorite scene, hands down, was the bloody massacre when the Sheriff tries, relentlessly, to get the kids out of the water. Awesome! Although, after the first scene where the Piranha's kill someone I was kind of like, Oh god! But it definitely got better. So, the bloody awesomeness that is now being dubbed 'The Piranha Massacre' made me give this movie one point up from what I was going to.

I was fortunate (or unfortunate...?) to have seen this in the theatre when it came out. 3D I believe "saved" this movie from being a total flop. As my fellow reviewer stated the Jaws comparisons are many and she listed most of them. I had seen the preview before it was in the theatres, from a "comic-con" event. Like Ginger stated, ass, titties and sharp-tooth fish occupy most of the 88 minutes.
I will admit, the 3D in some parts were really cool. I smiled and thought it was cool to see Richard Dreyfuss' cameo. I found it awfully strange to watch Jerry O'Connell from tv's 'My Secret Identity' as a porn director...who loses an important appendage to a hungry fish.
I honestly can't think of anything else to add to this review except the part when they were shooting the fish, and using boat motor propellers to fend off the fish just made me laugh, thinking to myself.. I paid "how much" to see this???

Not to spoil the ending for those who have not seen it yet..but let's just say there could be a Piranha 2 in the future if they wanted to.

I have to give this movie a 3/5.

At the time that I'm starting this review, I'm still watching the movie. But I had to start writing the review because I don't think I'm going to finish watching this movie. The characters in the movie all seem to have a total disconnect to the other characters. Like, the main chick and her husband. They have a "forced relationship" and there is really no character developments. The acting is subpar at best. I am currently only 30 minutes into the story and I'll continue to watch for a little while but as of right now, I don't like it. It has a repetitive aspect with all the "scary" points in the movie being just loud noises. Nothing that is actually scary. I have to admit, creepiest thing in the movie is the statue of a little boy that Emma walks past in the beginning of the movie. That's sad.

The story is that of Emma who is a NY stock broker. Her (french?) husband or boyfriend or whatever moves her to England to live in some fancy house. Her...significant other leaves on business for a few days and Emma experiences some terrifying (and I use that word lightly) visions. As well as...I don't know, other crap. For me, this movie had no highlights, no good points. Not much of anything.

I really didn't like this movie. The only reason I attempted to watch it was because I was bored and tired and I came across it on Netflix Instant Queue. This movie is a blatant ripoff of 'Amytiville Horror' and 'The Shining.' There is really nothing else left to say about it except that I didn't like. The best actor, the nanny who only has a few lines. The creepiest thing, a statue. and the scariest part...there is none.

I decided to watch 'Parasomnia' because it was from the same director of 'House on Haunted Hill.' And 'House on Haunted Hill' is like...a guilty pleasure for me. I don't know why I like it but...I love it. I've seen it so many times it's unhealthy. 'Parasomnia' has a couple known actors. For me, most notable is Jeffrey Combs from the 'Re-Animator' series. Love that series. 'Parasomnia' starts off a little rough. It seems like it's ALL over the place and there isn't one consistent thing going on. If you're not focused, I can see how it might be confusing for some people. After about 20 minutes or so, the movie starts to pick up even if it is a little weird.

I honestly can't remember the name of the main guy in the story...I think it's Danny? Anyways, he goes to visit his friend in this rehab treatment center...which also serves as a psychiatric unit AND it houses like "the world's most dangerous serial killer." Well, that's the way they talk about him. Strange right? So his friend tells him to go check out the chained up killer guy. As Danny is leaving from seeing this serial killer, he notices this girl sleeping in a bed. And he soon finds out that she suffers from Parasomnia (shocker!) and he becomes like...obsessed with her. It's weird. So all this stuff goes on over the course of like...24-48 hours and then he loves her. Like, undying, completely devoted, would kill for her love her.

So,despite all the weirdness in the movie, it's actually really good. The beginning is slow...and a little confusing but as the movie gets going, it becomes 100 percent better. It ended on a high note for me, which was good. I had a different opinion of 'Parasomnia.' I actually prejudged it and I was like, this movie is going to suck lol. I'm glad I stuck it out and watched it though because it was actually kinda good.

I was really hoping that '5ive Girls' was going to be a good movie...or I'd at least get some type of enjoyment out of it. I honestly feel like it was made by some horny high school guys. I mean, the movie has an incredible opportunity to be fantastic but there were SO many letdowns and bad lines, bad acting, and really annoying in general. I'm surprised I actually watched the whole movie.

The "five girls" are a bunchy of skanky virgins who are dropped off (or abandoned) at an old, shut down catholic school. This catholic school is like a boot camp, reform school for "troubled" catholic people...or, in this case, troubled girls. And...the girls that are "troubled" in this movie are a blind girl, a blind girl! HOW does she cause trouble? And they are all good girls...I mean apart from being misunderstood or whatever, they are like..."don't go upstairs Father whatever told us not to! We'll get in trouble, OH NO!" Lame, right? And the whole, made by horny guys, at the beginning when the girls first get to the school, they are stripped to their bra's and panties and "searched" by the head mistress. The head mistress who needs to squeeze their boobs, I think she pulls something out of one girls ass? I don't really know the deal there. And, they do this in front of the priest. WHAT? lol. And then, as punishment, the headmistress has to smack the girls on their ass' with a ruler. And then, all of a sudden, BAM! They are lesbians. W.T.F?

Anyways, it's blatantly obvious that I didn't like this movie. The script was terrible. Terrible. The acting was almost as bad. The only parts that weren't entirely annoying, was when the girls were possessed and that didn't last long. Although, it had potential to be a good movie, it wasn't. But, it wasn't the worst movie ever, which is why I'm not giving it a one.

When I first saw the preview for this, I was a little hesitant. We have all seen numerous alligator/crocodile movies that all come across animated/computerized and "fake" looking. Within the first 30 minutes, I was actually quite impressed. It did have a good story behind it. The movie doesn't speed up and have the croc attacking everything right away. It builds up to the first attack, and even then you don't see what actually attacks..just a small glimpse of a tail slicing through the water.

While you continue watching it, slowly the movie introduces the "enemy". I was impressed that despite trying to make it look like a godzilla sized croc, they limited the amount of computerized actions. It made it more believable to a certain degree of course.

It keeps a good pace and has enough to keep the viewer interested in watching to see if the beast wins or loses in the end.

Overall, it may be another water beast attacking humans movie, but I found it worth watching if you are looking for a fun movie on a rainy day.

I would give this movie a 3.5/5.

Have you ever been driving down the highway and see a car accident, and regardless of how bad it may be, you just can't turn away? Well, tonight, this happened when I was watching this Sci Fi Original Movie.

I have never been one for westerns or snakes, and this movie combined the both,and terribly. We've all heard of spaghetti westerns, well this was snake western. Within the first 15 minutes, it was pretty clear this movie was going to be a flop. The cartoonish, computerized snake that you see early on in the movie gave you an indication what the rest was going to be like.

Set in a small town in Texas, a drifter arrives and goes into the saloon. He plays a couple hands of poker, gets accused of cheating and then is challenged to a gun fight at high noon. The main character in the movie played by Brad Johnson warns everyone that hundreds of copperhead snakes are heading in their direction and by evening they all will be dead. Well, a good 45 minutes into the movie, it appears that the drifter was right, the snakes invade. Of course, people are trying to kill the snakes with guns and fire but they are overrun by them.

I found myself laughing at this sad excuse for a movie. This was set in a small town during the civil war in Texas. The teacher and her students get locked in a huge bank safe. I have to say the teacher's Irish accent was just silly. The blacksmith, who had this cool machine gun apparatus had the best Australian accent. The rest of the cast, was a cross between English and Texan.

Fast forward a bit, and just when you think they have shot every snake around...they realize that all the ones they killed are just babies. Sure enough, out of the ground, like a flashback to the movie Tremors, a huge 40 foot copperhead comes flying out of the ground. It was a Godzilla size snake, and they all start attacking it with arrows. Finally, the main character uses a large knife and as the snake is coming down from the sky towards him, he fatally hits him. It was good timing too, cause just as the crooked sheriff comes walking out, the snake falls over and squishes him dead.

This is a prime example of a trainwreck gone bad. I have no idea if this was meant to be a horror, drama, action or comedy. There were a lot of comedic lines in the movie such as this one: "..hotter than nickel night at the whore house". I mean, come on, what was the writer, producer and director thinking..and how could they find people to act in this. It was so bad, yet, I couldn't turn it off.

I've been harsh on the ratings for the last few movies I've reviewed, and unfortunately I cannot bring myself to even rate this, that's how bad it is. I suppose if you are really bored, and want to waste 90 minutes of your life, then this is the movie for you. But this reviewer has to give it a pass...and rate this 0/5.

I think what initially appealed to me about 'Face' was that it was a Tartan Asia Extreme film. The story line wasn't all that appealing to me but I was a little interested. The cover for the movie can also draw you in. At the beginning of the film, I felt like it had a "Grudge" feel to it. As the story progressed, however, I found that isn't the case.

The movie is about a facial re-constructionist named Hyun-min. Hyun-min has a daughter who is beta allergic and has just had a heart transplant. She remains sick, even though she should be getting better. While the story of where the heart came from unravels, Hyun-min finds himself reconstructing skulls in an attempt to find the donor for his daughters heart in a race to save her life.

Well not overly scary, 'Face' does have some scare factors to it. For instance, there is a ghost that pops up every now and then and makes you jump. Other than that, there is nothing frightening about 'Face.' Well it is a decent film, it's not one of the best I've seen come from Tartan Video. However, if you're into all that mystery, police type movies with a few good scares and a surprise ending, then 'Face' is the movie for you.

OK, where to begin with this. Let's keep in mind it is a made for TV movie. I don't know if this hinders the movie or helps it. Like the description indicates, a tsunami hits the coast off Malibu. Along with the waves and flooding, goblin sharks come along for the ride.

The first thing I thought of when I began watching this, was Baywatch meets Jaws. It doesn't help that the lifeguards are wearing the bright orange clothing and the girls are blonde haired-blue eyed beauties mixed with muscular dark eyed men. All that aside, the story just couldn't do it for me. The animation, and I do stress animation of the sharks made the movie, in this reviewer's eyes cheesy. You would think in 2009 they would have ways of incorporating real shark footage with fake sharks. Heck, even Steven Spielberg used that technique in 1975 while directing Jaws.

The trapped lifeguards, use flares to distract the prehistoric beasts so they can get out of the shack. The sharks are smart, despite being "extinct" for centuries. They can lift up filing cabinets, push down garage doors and despite being blind, they use their other senses to hunt down their victims.

This movie was just a waste of viewing time and I can now understand why this didn't make it onto the big screen.
I would have to say pass on this movie if you are expecting some suspenseful action and go back and watch the mother that started them all...Jaws.

I give this movie a 1/5.

I was kind of in the mood for some shark watching today

I have been a fan of shark movies ever since I first heard John Williams score while a great white shark kept people on the beach. The storyline is quite simple, a scientist wanting to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease. It almost makes you want to forgive her for being hell bent on keeping the sharks alive, regardless of people dying. Soon after the experiments, the sharks begin to exhibit signs that only humans possess. They recognize items such as guns, and can even operate an oven and turn it on, while a victim is trapped inside it.

The effects are overly computerized, obviously, which almost gives the sharks a cartoonish appearance. Really, the only big name actor in this movie is Samuel L. Jackson, which (spoiler alert) doesn't fare too well against the last surviving shark, early on in the movie.

I think the twists in the movie were good, but the scientist who sacrifices her life for the main hero of the movie still doesn't save this from being, well a fish out of water flop. This was not one of my favourite movies, nor would I want to have this on my shelf for later viewings.With that being said..

I'm not really sure where to start with this review. 'The Rite' was a little slow for me at times. I liked it, but I didn't love it. I found myself distracted by my cat while watching the movie at certain times. It was slow to get going. However, Anthony Hopkins delivered a stunning performance in 'The Rite' as Father Lucas. The acting, all around, phenomenal. I loved the scenes where there were exorcism. It seemed more realistic than 'The Exorcist' type of events.

'The Rite' is the story of Michael Kovak, he is confused about where his allegiance lies. Does he believe in god or not? He goes to school to study to become a priest. When he reaches the end of his 4 years study, he tries to quit but is talked into going to Rome to study at the Vatican as an exorcist. Going in there with disbelief, he quickly finds more than he bargained for. You can watch his slow transition from non-believer to believing.

'The Rite' wasn't really what I expected. I was thinking more paranormal, objects floating around, people being killed by possessed psycho paths. That's not what this movie was like. It was very mild for an exorcist movie but still stunning. Like I said earlier, Anthony Hopkins is an amazing actor and he really delivered for his role as Father Lucas. Good movie, it's definitely worth checking out.

I wish that more directors made movies like 'Insidious.' I literally just finished watching it and my adrenaline is still pumping! I loved movies that make you jump..or scream..or at least get your heart pumping. This movie has all of that and more! Amazing! I thought that it should be higher rated than PG-13 because I thought they dropped the f-bomb a few times but maybe not haha.

The story is about a family; Josh, Renai, and three children. As they settle into their new home they notice some strange things going on. A lot of people are saying that 'Insidious' was slow to start, but I feel like it was an awesome start to an amazing movie. It gives you that slow creepy feeling of a haunted house movie. Not only is this movie thoroughly scary, it is full of twists. It has everything you need to make an awesome movie, an incredible one!!

I highly, highly, highly, recommend 'Insidious.' If you haven't seen it yet, I urge you to do so! It has been a long time since a movie scared me the way 'Insidious' did. I don't own it yet, but I fully intend to buy it as soon as all the stores around my house starts selling the Blu-Ray copies! Love, love, love it! Also, James Wan, fantastic director. I have yet to see a movie of his that I hate.

I saw Insidious in the theatre when it came out. I was expecting it to be like just another possession type movie, Amityville horror storyline etc. What I didn't expect, was to be literally frightened by this movie. While it lacks in gore and blood, it makes up for with suspense, darkness and just plain old fashioned scariness. The music contributed to the fear factor of the movie as well. The writer behind this movie, Leigh Whannell did an outstanding job.That comes as no surprise, considering his body of work. You may remember him as David in the first Saw movie. Chained up in the bathroom with Dr. Gordon. Since then, he also wrote Saw II, Saw III, and Saw: The Video Game and has directed and starred in a long list of great movies.

I really liked Lin Shaye's performance as the family friend who deals with paranormal activity. Although, I couldn't help but find her remind me of Alan Rickman. (Also a big Rickman fan here :). There were parts towards the end, that had me covering my eyes slightly with my hand. And not to spoil it for anyone who has not seen it yet..the ending is outstanding! Definetely not what I had expected.

Like my fellow reviewer, I am also giving Insidious 5/5..

'Fragile' is part of Fangoria Frightfest. I love Fangoria films, for the most part, so it's no surprise that I loved 'Fragile.' It had an incredible storyline, good characters, great acting, and it was creepy. Come on, who doesn't love a creepy haunted hospital? 'Fragile' is directed by the fabulous Jaume Balaguero and, as I've come to expect from him, it's fantastic! You might recognize some of his work in 'Rec' or 'Rec 2' probably most notable is 'darkness' staring Anna Paquin. Not only did Balaguero direct 'Fragile' but he wrote it as well. And I have to admit, I'm impressed!

'Fragile' is about a sick kids hospital. The beginning of the movie is immaculate. It lets you know that you're in for an awesome movie! I don't want to spoil the movie because I feel like everyone should check it out, so I won't say much about the story line. At the hospital, they hire an American nurse to take over the night shift and look after the few children that are left there. This hospital is run down. So run down, in fact, that no one has been on the second floor since 1959....I think it was 1959. Don't quote me on that! Anyways, new night nurse, Amy Nichols (Calista Flockhart), soon finds out that the hospital might be haunted by a spirit the children call 'mechanical girl.'

Amazing movie! That's all I can really say. I loved it. And, I'm not going to lie, I put off watching this movie for a long time. Because I wasn't sure of it and I always had more appealing things to watch in my ridiculous stack of movies. I'm glad I decided to watch it today! It was fantastic! And, for once, you actually get to see the spirit in the movie. I would have been PISSED if I hadn't been able to see...it. 'Fragile' is a totally twisted tale in more ways then one with a shocker at the end. Definitely, definitely worth checking out! So go watch it...now!

'The Ring 2' is the second movie in 'The Ring' series and a remake of 'Ringu 2.' Where 'The Ring' was chilling, creepy, and scary, 'The Ring 2' is deep, a little creepy, and has it's moments. 'The Ring' was definitely my favorite of the 2 movies but that's not to say 'The Ring 2' wasn't good; it definitely was. All the same actors and characters that survive the first Ring movie are brought to the second. Again, Naomi Watts is in 'The Ring 2' and she is an amazing actress...at least to me!

The story is that of Rachel and Aidan. They have managed to escape Samara and are living in a new city. Little do they know, that through the tapes she has tracked them down and opened a whole new world of trouble. 'The Ring 2' goes in-depth into the story of Samara. What happened to her and why she is after Aidan. A notable actress in the movie is Stephen King's Carrie, Sissy Spacek. She's great in here too, even if her part is really small. Well this movie was not as scary as it's predecessor, it's still got it's moments where things make you jump. And what Rachel has to do to Aidan to save him is scary itself to think about.

'The Ring 2' is definitely one of my more favorite movies even though I didn't like it as much as The Ring. A few good things I did like: Naomi Watts, Sissy Spacek, story line even though a little inconsistent it's still good, great acting, Ringu director, and I personally like learning a little more background about characters. I think it's good to know where they are coming from and what happened. It's what makes us like, love, or hate a character in a movie, book, comic, video game, whatever! Overall, fantastic movie and definitely worth checking out!

'Requiem' is the true story of Anneliese Michel's. I decided to watch 'Requiem' because I've seen both 'Exorcism of Emily Rose' and 'Anneliese: The Exorcism Tapes.' I wouldn't really classify it as a horror but I can see how it falls into that category. The thought behind the movie and the true story is what makes it creepy.

The movie is told through Michaela Klinger. She is brought up in a very religious family. Right from the start you learn that Michaela has some sort of...problem that needs to be monitored by Doctors as her parents are very hesitant about letting her go to College. They do let her go and, while there, you can see the drastic transformation from exemplary student, family oriented, and religious good girl to partying, drinking, having premarital sex and just a general downward spiral. Michaela Klinger is played by Sandra Huller and, wow, what a performance! Amazing acting all around.

Don't watch this movie if you are expecting to see blood and guts, demons, devils, exorcisms, or CGI. That's not what this movie is about. If you want to learn about the girl and the family that inspired 'Exorcism of Emily Rose' then I think you'll love this. While still creepy at times, it is definitely not scary. I don't want to give any misperceptions. That being said, 'Requiem' is still a great movie! The acting is good, it's true to life, and it keeps you engaged. I recommend it but only for the above stated reasons. If you're more into seeing demons and things, watch 'Exorcism of Emily Rose.'

This has become one of horror's most memorable questions. Jigsaw popped onto the horror scene with his own brand of saving individuals by allowing them to have an option if they wanted to live or die. The Saw series has since become one of the most intriguing series in the genre.

The first movie in the series, just titled Saw, begins with two men finding themselves chained at the ankle in a dirty, run down bathroom. The movie then takes the viewer on twists and turns, and with each victim, attempts to show people how they are responsible for their life and in the end, the ultimate moral not to take life for granted, and if you have been given chances to change your life, then take them and make it a better life for yourself.

The visual effects are not like your typical slasher, blood, guts movie. Sure there are some scenes that might make you squeamishly look away, but nothing to the point of making you turn off all together.

As a fan of horror movies, I've always been intrigued with the movies where the director can scare you more without showing you more. Darkness, sound effects etc, can provoke more fear than slashing and blood spraying all over, in this reviewer's eyes.

Throughout the movie, this reviewer found herself siding with Jigsaw and what he was trying to accomplish by placing people in life and death situations. It's not to say I condone torture and/or violence when trying to prove a point, but if you were given opportunities to change your life and you wanted to live, would you do everything in your power to survive?

Overall, I would have to say the premier installment in this movie franchise is wonderfully written, directed and produced. The musical score is utilized at the appropriate times. The acting is also fantastic. Tobin Bell (John/Jigsaw) gives his character depth, intrigue and makes a wonderful horror movie villain, or hero, depending on how you see him. Cary Elwes and Leigh Whannell grow as characters throughout their time being chained in the bathroom.

It's not mandatory to check out all the Saws before watching any of the others, but I would highly recommend having a Saw marathon and beginning at this one and working your way through to 2010's "The Final Chapter"

'Annaeliese: The Exorcist Tapes' is supposed to be the true "film" from the exorcism of Anneliese Michel. Most people will probably recognize her name because 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose' is also based on her story. That being said, these are clearly not the real tapes. Nor is the movie any good. I forced myself to sit through this one because I didn't want to just give up and say, I couldn't watch it. But it was bad. They claim these are the real tapes...and I think that they tried to prove they were real by trying to make the film look old. For instance, most of the film has this...soft sort of air brushed look to it. It's terrible. It makes it look worse than if they had just filmed it with a camera and not tried to brighten or alter the picture. And the acting is not too great either.

I didn't actually know when I started watching this movie that it was based off of the life of Anneliese Michel. I thought it was like a 'Paranormal Activity' type of movie. I researched the movie while watching it because if I hadn't done something else, I would have fallen asleep from sheer boredom. So, I didn't know it was based on a real person's story. So when I started watching it, the whole time I was just like, wow, copy the Exorcist much? But it is true to story...I guess. The acting is terrible...the lighting drives me NUTS! I can't stand it. And the fact that, when Anneliese has an episode where she is under full possession, she starts screaming "666" in french...which I can't see a possessed person doing. And by possessed I mean the "demon" or whatever.

Anneliese Michel's story is definitely a sad one. And some people might find it disturbing. But I feel like this movie made a mockery of her life. I do not recommend it. I usually would not negate someone's work...and I know that people work very hard to make these movies. But it was bad. I guess it's worth checking out if you like bad acting and terrible lighting and bad writing and all that stuff. For me, I did not like it...at all.

This is not your grandmother's Red Riding Hood. There's a basket of goodies (not exactly the edible kind), a sweet grandma, a winsome young lass in a beautiful red hood, and a Big Bad Wolf. But there the similarity ends. This Red Riding Hood is shot through the lens of the Twilight films--for wide appeal to the tween and teen audiences, and definitely not a bedtime story for the little ones. Helmed by Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke, Red Riding Hood bears a lot of the moody trademarks of the vampire series. Valerie (Amanda Seyfried), the plucky girl in the stunning cape, lives in a tiny medieval village whose geography is not specified--it's just very mountainous and remote. Valerie's heart belongs to her childhood friend Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), but as Red Riding Hood opens, she learns she has been betrothed to Henry (Max Irons). As if that love triangle weren't enough, it seems a dangerous wolf--or is it werewolf?--has been terrorizing the town for years, and its killing sprees have intensified. When the townsfolk kill a wolf, they think they have finally freed their town from tyranny, and throw a giant bacchanal--like Burning Man in the snow. But then Father Solomon (Gary Oldman, in wickedly good form) appears on the scene to tell the villagers they've killed only a gray wolf--not, in fact, the werewolf he knows is the true villain.

'Red Riding Hood' is a retelling of a classic children's tale with a twist. Although it wasn't scary I still kind of liked it. A lot of people seem to be comparing it too the actual tale where I like to look at things as a stand alone rather than a replica. Even though I heard lots of bad things about 'Red Riding Hood' and it has low ratings, I still wanted to check it out. And I'm glad I did.

While the actual story was not scary or overly gory, I felt like it still had a good story line. There was some morbidity to it and the acting wasn't terrible. I like Amanda Seyfried and love Gary Oldman so they were probably my favorites haha. There wasn't really any gore...well at least any for me. But there were a couple twists along the way and it has that whole 'murder mystery' aspect to it.

Well it's obviously not popular, I still really liked 'Red Riding Hood' so I would suggest that people at least check it out. However, I tend to like things that most people don't. So, don't hold it against me if you hate it. I'm glad that I picked it up and watched it. I thought it was a good movie, good story line, and good actors!

As the evening progresses it seems the investigators are not prepared for the horror still within the house.

I typically try to give every movie I watch a fair shot. Even if I hate it, I'll try to struggle through it. Unfortunately, I couldn't do that for '8213: Gacy House.' It definitely was not the WORST movie I've ever seen but it was in that list. The acting was terrible...and just...everything about it was wrong! For some reason, in almost every movie like this, there is a girl cast as the crazy Wiccan girl. And this girl is always a terrible actor, over the top, and a complete nut job. I mean, really? And why doesn't it ALWAYS have to be a girl? UGH! Anyways, besides the painful redundancies that are in '8213: Gacy House' and minus all of its downfalls...I still couldn't sit through it. I turned it off about half way through.

'8213: Gacy House' is the story of a group of 6 individuals whose names I can not even remember. They go to where the Gacy house used to be and launch an investigation. One thing I have to complain about, is that near the beginning of the film, they are in a circle and the crazy chick is all "John Wayne Gacy Jr, we call to you, I sacrifice my 15 year old nephews sweater." W.T.F? Anyways, there is this...what I'm assuming as an orb(?) that shoots up from the fireplace into the chimney. But there was next to no reaction. Then a couple people are talking in the kitchen and the door slams, no reaction. There are two people upstairs investigating and the lighting makes it look like shadows on the wall...I guess? So they are all like "Oh my gosh, you guys better get up here!" And then everyone is acting like this "shadow person" is proof of a haunting...or a spirit. Ok...but what about the door slamming shut RIGHT BESIDE YOU??? Or the ridiculously bright blue orb thing that made a loud noise and shot up into the fireplace? Ohh that's right, those are normal everyday things. I forgot! Terrible, terrible, terrible!

I won't say that you shouldn't watch this movie...or that...you should. But it will never play on my TV again. I will also never fall for a Netflix suggestion when it says "Like: Paranormal Activity." I did not give this movie a 1/5 because there is a possibility that it could have been better. And, like I said, it's not the worst movie out there. But I have to advise you to not waste your money!

Their bedrooms are wall to wall and they come up with Morse code tapping on the wall to communicate with each other. Abby comes to Owen's side to protect him and they form a strong bond with each other.

Throughout the movie, I was really impressed with the storyline and the acting. Both kids played their parts very well, and the plot stayed true to the original. It wasn't just about killing and blood sucking..but more about two children who discover they care about each other and will protect the other no matter what happens.

I did find some parts a little hard to watch, like the bully scenes with Owen and the kids from his school. But the satisfaction when the kids get whats coming to them, over-shadows that. The visual effects are really good, and the timing of them as well.

It did end with a possibility of a sequel, however I personally hope they don't go that route.

Overall, I would highly recommend Let Me In and this is definitely one that is on my shelf for future re-viewings.

I have to agree with you Nyx, 'Let Me In' was an amazing movie. Unfortunately, I watched this movie on Netflix so I don't own a copy but I will be buying it to add to my collection. Wow! It was really good. Much better than I anticipated. And I'm glad that you recommended it to me.

The acting from all perspectives was incredible, especially for such young actors. And the story line was incredible! I have not see the Swedish version 'Let The Right One In' but I'm sure I'll be checking it out just because of this one. I don't think they could have picked better people for the roles. And, I also found that watching the bullying scenes rather difficult! I hate the fact that kids are bullied and I had a great sense of relief and satisfaction when Owen whacked that bully over the ear! And then at the end, I knew it was coming and I was happy to see it.

Overall this movie was fantastic. It was dark, twisted, disturbing, and enjoyable! I have to say, my favorite scene was definitely the ending with the bullies! haha. I highly recommend this movie! Especially if you are a fan of horror movies with kids, like 'The Orphanage.'

'Bloody Reunion' is not something that I would have classified as a Horror. It doesn't leave you feeling scared and the only scary parts that happened, were at points when something would jump out and make a loud noise...which happened once or twice. There was some gore in 'Bloody Reunion' but not a whole lot. It was a good movie with a decent plot but nothing too special. I also have to add that 'Bloody Reunion' is also known as 'To Sir With Love.'

The whole scenario for 'Bloody Reunion' is one that, I feel, has been played out. It's about a teacher, she was mean to her students, and we are led to believe that her students are seeking revenge on her. The movie takes place over a 24 hour period where each student who has shown up for the reunion is 'brutally murdered.' In the end, only the teacher, Mrs. Park and her helper/former student, Jung-won survive. I was disappointed with 'Bloody Reunion' at first. I felt like some of the actors were...trying too hard, but that could have just been their perception of the character they were playing. And some things seemed redundant to me. The ending, however, totally changed my perspective on most of the movie. Although, it's still not something I would definitively define as "horror" it was still really good! It ends with a twist! And I'm a total sucker for movies where there is a crazy twist at the end...like in Madhouse.

I think that Bloody Reunion is definitely a movie worth checking out. However, don't be shocked if you're left feeling slightly disappointed. It's a great movie, with good twists, and I liked it. But I think it could have been a little better or categorized differently.

This was one of those movies that just happened to be on tv so I decided to watch it, but it turned out 20 minutes in to be so bad, but like a trainwreck, I just couldn't turn away. Snakes have always been a weakness of mine. I don't like them, in movies or in real life. As the description from IMDb states, it's about mutated vipers. Not only do these slithering beasts strike innocent people, but they continue to devour them. So much so, that in some cases all that is left are clothes and in an early killing a wedding ring.
The cast is pretty much made up of unknowns, except Corbin Bernsen & Tara Reid. While the snakes themselves look pretty good, the animation and effects could use some work. When the snakes strike and attach onto victims, like leeches, I found it was over computerized and made for those parts to appear quite cheesy. Towards the end, the small number of survivors use everything from fire extinguishers, flares and even shotguns to fend off the snakes. They eventually lure them all into a greenhouse, turn on some propane tanks and set it ablaze.
It comes to an end when the main scientist who was trying to protect his own name, finds himself in the back seat, proud of how he was trying to keep the whole ordeal under wraps. He then hears a growl and a hiss, looks down and is face to face with one of his own creations. The screen fades to black.
The story I found alright, but with the computerized animation overused, I am going to say this is definitely a movie that is ok to have in the background as noise, while you are doing something else.

I want to start off by saying that I'm not here to rate and review only DVD's, HD's, Blu Rays, 3D, or the sound. I'm down for whatever. I don't think a review blog should be called "eat a bowl of fuck's movie review blog!" When all they do is review the sound quality...or the visual. I'm here to review the MOVIE! So, let's break it down, shall we?

The Ring is a remake, alas, another cheesy rip off of a foreign film. Need I say more? I love all things foreign....almost all things foreign. Really, I just love J-Horror's and Asia Extreme. I'm an addict! I don't want to compare The Ring to Ringu though. So, The Ring is the story of Rachel Keller who has to take care of her son, Aidan. Her niece Katie watches a creepy film and receives a phone call saying she has 7 days to live. After 7 days, surprise surprise, she dies! Rachel investigates Katie's death and ends up watching the tape and, like a moron, brings it home where her son watches it. I mean, it's not bad enough that you are going to die in 7 days, but you bring the tape home, to where your child is. Is it not like...some unwritten rule that children are naturally curious...so even if they stumbled upon said tape and you told them to never touch it, they will regardless? So Rachel lets yet another person watch it and then goes on a mission for the next 7 days to figure out how to solve the mystery of the tape and save herself and her son. Although I bitch, and I do it quite frequently, about movie remakes, The Ring is one of my favorites! I loved it and I won't lie, I was freaked out at certain parts. It has a lot of scare factors. And kids are always creepy in movies like 'The Ring'

Gore Verbinski is an amazing director and his job on 'The Ring' was no exception. Most people will probably recognize him from his work on 'The Pirates of the Caribbean' movies. I'm fairly confident he didn't direct The Ring 2 but he did a great job on The Ring. Building up suspense and having scares at all the right times! The acting in The Ring was also excellent! I love Naomi Watts (Rachel Keller) so there is really no surprise that I loved her in this movie! Overall, awesome movie! It should definitely be part of any horror movie collection!

Oct 16 - I recently saw Ring last night on Teletoon at Night no less and I decided to watch it again, since it was years that I had last seen it. The one thing that always creeped me out about the movie was the chic climbing out of the well. I don't know why, as I've sit through other movies with "creepy" things, but this movie in particular was always one that freaked me out.
I always wondered why, if she watched the movie more than just once, why they didn't have it that you would die quicker instead just the original 7 days.
I also couldn't understand why she left a tape like that laying around for her son to watch. Seriously lady, you have a "killer" tape and you leave it around.
I've not watched the second one yet, although I have it in my collection...one day though, I will.
But overall, I enjoyed this movie. I liked the tape, and the initial storyline behind it. I would recommend everyone see this or own it.
I am going to give this movie a 4/5.

I have had a disturbing obsession with all things horror ever since I saw my first horror movie with my dad. It just so happens to be part of my favorite series, Nightmare on Elm Street. I was probably 10 when I saw it and I never looked back. The older I got, the more disgusting, morbid and disturbing my movie selections got. The more blood, guts, and mutilations, the better!

It takes a lot to get me freaked out, or to leave me feeling disturbed, but I’m always looking for that next ‘high.’ I love the feeling of being so scared after watching a movie that I’m afraid to turn off the lights. Make sure the windows are locked and checking the doors twice. Nothing beats it! While I enjoy watching anything American, I find J-Horrors and Asia Extreme to be my favorite! I love foreign horror films. They always take things to the extreme! Whether it be an extra scare or an extra dismemberment!

I am the second author and co-owner of Two Gory Chicks. I feel like the Horror genre is still somewhat male dominated…and there are not NEARLY enough female horror movie reviewers out there. That is something I plan on changing! Nyx is like my movie soulmate! I’ve never met someone who loves horror movies to the same degree that I do!

Since I first saw a great white shark devour unexpected swimmers and priests expelling Satan from a young girl, I have been hooked on horror movies. The scarier, the better. The bloodier, the gorier.

Nothing is better than an all-night horror movie marathon. Lights out, movie on, escaping from the safety of daylight entering the chaotic darkness of nightfall.
